The grand Playa de Madrid riverfront project was designed by architect Muñoz Monasterio in 1932, following the principles of rationalism: simple forms at right angles or curves, functional and serial openings, oculi, clean projections, simple canopies, flat roofs, and white plaster finishes combined with exposed brick.

The intervention has eliminated all the negative impacts added over decades and restored the original design, adapting it to universal accessibility standards.

The restaurant’s interior design introduces a touch of sophistication reminiscent of the 1930s to the Nautical Club building, as it is the element least linked to the sporting activities of the rest of the project.
