A year ago, we decided to move from our studio, divided into two floors, at Costanilla de los Ángeles, to a larger studio at Plaza Santa Catalina de los Donados, located, as they say, “just around the corner”.
We had to do a renovation at Santa Catalina, we were lucky to had our friends at Arkilum who advised us on the best possible lighting. It was not easy to do the work and to move in July and August. They were two complicated months that, despite of Gilberto’s infinite patience and good spirit, tested the nerves of the entire team.
During the month of September, we finished settling in and, since then, with the rush and deliveries of everyday life, we have not had time to analyze the change.
Last Monday we all were in the conference room for our “Arvo Mondays”. It was the first Monday in which no one was traveling, working at home, on vacation or meetings, and by seeing us all in a single room, we realized the advantages of our new studio.
Not only we are in a single office and we share more ideas, we also have four areas, different from our workplaces, in which we can hold meetings, calls or simply relax. The light is much better, there is less noise as we have moved a few meters away from the Arenal street’s whirlwind, we have a fantastic library of materials for everyone to consult, and a kitchen/library perfect for drawing quietly with a coffee.
A year later, we see that the effort was worth it and we thank Gilberto, who led the management of the work with enormous dedication and affection, and the whole team that was involved in the project.
